Too many wills do not work properly - the result can be an "Accidental Disinheritance."

Everyone needs to understand how wills, trusts and estate plans function. While attorneys and other advisors can be helpful, you need to understand the basics of the plan. Only then will the plan actually be effective to carry out your intent.

This presentation will help you make sure that your plan works properly and show you how to avoid some disasters and pitfalls. Topics include: How to Own Property; Joint Tenancy Disasters and Challenges; The Basic Types of Wills; Preparing to Meet With Your Attorney; How to Help a "Problem" Child; Preparing For Future Health Care Decisions; Understanding Bequests and Trusts, and Knowing How to Bequeath An IRA.

To make sure that your plan is followed, you need to understand the basic wills process and options. There are many choices for including specific ideas and methods of distribution in wills. There are also specific times when you should consider updating that will. If there is a change in family situation, a move to another state or a change in your financial circumstances, your will may no longer carry out your plans. All of these circumstances could lead to an accidental disinheritance.
